DBF Recovery Toolbox (download) is intended for easy recovery of data from damaged table files of *.dbf databases (dBase IV, FoxPro, Clipper, configurations of the 1C financial suite and other applications). The current version of the software allows you to accomplish the following tasks:

• Recover the structure of table fields.
• Recover table data. The program is also capable of processing MEMO fields and files associated with them.

DBF Recovery Toolbox uses a proprietary data recovery algorithm for extracting data from damaged dbf table files and associated MEMO field files (fpt or dbt) and will be especially appreciated by developers and database users working with tables of this format.

The program has a friendly and intuitive interface and can be used even by novices, as it is capable of automatically finding all the information related to the damaged table that is required for data recovery. All you need to do is specify the file to be recovered and DBF Recovery Toolbox will do the rest automatically.
The software does not modify the source table in any way. The recovery engine works with an image of the table located in the memory of your computer.
The data recovery process is divided into several stages. You can go back at any stage and change the table file processing settings. You can also finish recovering one table and then go back to choose another file to work with.
Below are the stages of the recovery process:

1. Selection of a damaged table file
   
   This stage allows you to enter the name and the path of the dbf table file and the associated files of MEMO fields (fpt or dbt). You can also choose one of the previously opened sets of files.
   
   
2. Analysis and revision of the structure and content of the recovered data
   
   The program reads the file header, identifies the names and types of the table fields and determines the offsets to be used for reading the data from the source files. If the source table is damaged beyond recovery and correct identification of its structure using the header data becomes impossible, DBF Recovery Toolbox determines the field types by analyzing the data stored in the records of the damaged table.
   If the software detects MEMO fields during the analysis stage, but no associated files have been specified, it searches the folder with the source dbf table file for MEMO files. If any files are found, it suggests using them for the recovery process.
   Once the structure analysis is over, DBF Recovery Toolbox extracts the records from the table. If a MEMO file was specified or found, it is also analyzed and data is extracted from it.
   If the table being recovered contains MEMO fields, but the files associated with it are not used, the software only processes the links to these file records contained in the table.
   
   
3. Selection of an output file for saving the recovered data
   
   Saving of recovered data is only possible in the registered version of the program. The trial version only allows you to view the data recovered from the source file in the program window.
   By default, the program suggests saving the recovered table to the folder containing the damaged source table under a different name.
   
   
4. Selection of the format of the output file
   
   You can save documents in the DBF format of any version: dBase III-IV, FoxPro 3.x (or later). By default, the software suggest saving the document in the format matching the format of the original file. If the document has been damaged badly and the program fails to determine the format version, it suggests saving the results in the latest version of the format.
   
   
5. Revision of the recovery log
   
   Once you have reviewed and saved the recovered data, the software shows a log containing detailed information about the files processed during the current session: the time each file was processed, the name of the source file, the name of the destination file and the number of records recovered.
